It was meant to be an evening about felicitating television’s finest but when Salman Khan is on the guest list, fireworks invariably concern the superstar and not anything else.
The actor also went all out cutting a picture of warmth with sister-in-law Malaika Arora – whose marriage with Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan has hit a rough patch, according to B-Town rumours.
The superstar made a handsome semi-formal statement in black suit and blue denims as he walked onto the red carpet. Amid the dazzle of flashlights, he was asked if he would be performing that evening, to which he said he was never approached. When he was informed that Madhuri Dixit would be dancing at the show, besides a few others, a frowning Salman retorted with a note of the ominous in his voice. “Lots of people seem to be performing here. Mujhe kyun nahi bulaya in logon ne perform karne ke liye? Bigg Boss khatam ho gaya to mujhe inhone sideline kar dia. But aayega agle saal, fir dekhenge kahan jaaenge yeh log (Why didn’t these guys call me to perform? Bigg Boss is over, so they have sidelined me. But the show will be back next year, and then we will see where they go),” said the actor.
Meanwhile the guest list was mostly about celebs involved with various shows on Colors. Anil Kapoor, who returns with the second season of 24 soon, looked ageless as ever. Arjun Kapoor, host of the latest season of Khatron Ke Khiladi, was there too. Karan Johar, Krushna Abhishek, Raghav Juyal and Tanishaa Mukherjee were also spotted at the event.
Varun Kapoor and Helly Shah of Swarangini won the Best Actor trophies as well as Favourite Jodi. Spandan Chaturvedi for Udann and Siddharth Nigam of Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat won Best Child Stars. Sai Ballal was declared Best Actor in a Negative Role for Udann while Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat won the Best Parivaar trophy.
