Salman Khan made is debut in Biwi Ho Toh Aisi, but came into the limelight with Maine Pyaar Kiya. Sooraj Barjatya was not keen on casting Salman Khan after watching his first audition.
It was something that Salman did which melt Sooraj’s heart and made him cast in the iconic role of “Prem”. When Sooraj was not satisfied with Salman’s performance, Salman started suggesting names of other actors who could fit the bill better. This sweet gesture touched Sooraj and he decided to go ahead with the actor as the lead of his iconic film.
He then appeared opposite Madhuri Dixit in 1994’s hit film Hum Apke Hain Koun, which was a remake of Nadiya Ke Paar. The film was directed by Sooraj Barjatya and Madhuri Dixit was paid a sum of 2 Crore for the film, which was way more than Salman’s remuneration.
Madhuri Dixit was a well-established actor by then and Salman was just carving his way into Bollywood!
