Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan And Katrina Kaif To Promote Urdu! Fans Say Learn The Language First!

Urdu is a beautiful language which is slowly dying in today’s world. To revive and promote it the government has chosen three Bollywood superstars, but fans are not really impressed with it.

According to the Ministry of Human Resource Development’s autonomous body National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif could be brought on board to endorse the language.

Aquil Ahmed, director of NCPUL said that they are going to approach Bollywood actors, prominent names like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan and make them say a few lines in Urdu, and then use these videos in their events. NCPUL has been facing competition from private players that organise events for the promotion of Urdu and draw massive crowds of young people.

NCPUL publishes books in Urdu, organises conferences at national and international level and runs diploma courses in Arabic and Urdu to promote the language.

But looks like the fans of the language are not in favour of the stars and the news has been receiving flak on Twitter. Many said that the actors should know the language first before promoting it.

While one Twitter user laughed at the decision of the organisation and their choice of actors, another one said that Katrina should learn how to properly speak Hindi first and then opt for Urdu.
