In the last episode of Koffee With Karan, cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were the guests of host Karan Johar. In spite of doing any good with their appearance on the chat show, Pandya and Rahul ended up in a lot of trouble. Pandya was slammed on social media for his misogynistic comments on the show which were cringe-worthy. As the tweets started flooding on social media it created a storm and Pandya had to take responsibility for his actions, and he said that he got “carried away” by the nature of the show.

Pandya posted an apology on social media which read, “After reflecting on my comments on Koffee With Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in a way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I meant to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respect”.

After the outburst of social media, Pandya and Rahul were served with a show-cause notice by BCCI. In a statement to news agency PTI, Pandya wrote: “I made an appearance on the chat show where I have made certain statements without realising that these could be disrespectful and offend sensitivities of viewers for which I am sincerely regretful.”

The right-handed batsman further vowed to never repeat a similar behaviour in the future. “I made these statements in the flow of the show and had not comprehended the extent to which my statements would be found offensive. Rest assured I hold the BCCI in the highest regard and will exercise complete discretion and prudence to ensure that such incidents are never repeated in future,” he said.

Just a little recap of what Pandya said on Koffee With Karan, “When I lost my virginity, I came home and said, “Main karke aaya hai aaj” said Pandya as a response of being cool with his parents.

“At a party my parents asked me acha tera wala (women) kaunsa hai (Which are your women)? I said yeh, yeh, yeh (pointing out women) and they were like waah proud of you beta,” said the cricketer in one of his comments.

In another segment, Johar asked him, “why don’t you ask women’s names at nightclubs?”, to which he replied, “I like to observe how they move, I’m little from the black side so I need to see how they move.”

Well done boys!
